I’ve started adding a few things here or there to my closet to replace the serious purging I’m doing lately. I hit up the outlets last week to check out the Columbus Day sales and snagged a few SERIOUSLY awesome deals, but this skirt was totally my “splurge” item (even though it was 50% off – snagged it for $30 marked down from $60!)

If you know me, you know how much I LURVE LOVE LURVE LOVE quatrefoils. 🙂 I saw this pink quatrefoil skirt on the rack and fell in love. BUT, it wasn’t in my size… BUT, I figured I’d try it on anyway.

And lo and behold, it fit! It’s definitely a little large, but I was so pumped! That also just goes to prove the point that it’s important to try things on. Sizing varies SO SO SO much from store to store. You can be a size 10 in one store and a size 4 in another, etc. etc.

I know this is one of those skirts that is going to be in my wardrobe for a long time. And even if I continue to lose weight and as my size changes, it’s one of those pieces that I’ll probably just get tailored because I love it so much.

I also have to say how much I love the power of the chambray shirt. I’m so glad it came back “in style” last year and that it’s not going anywhere. It’s one of those pieces that I really believe needs to be in every woman’s closet. It’s SO versatile. You can dress it up, dress it down, dress it all around. 😛

Seriously though, it goes with jeans, skirts, dress pants… it can be layered, it can be… anything, really. So, if you have yet to get your hands on a chambray shirt, I suggest you do so ASAP. 🙂

  6. Looking so good, Molly!!! I love that skirt. I bought my very first chambray top last weekend, but it’s a pintuck tunic, so it’s not even really a basic. Whoops! Sorry I’m so late on the cohosting link-up, girl! The kids were both so sick last week and today, well, women trubs.

  26. I love quatrefoils too! (Yay Phi Mu! 😉 )

    I splurged big time on a leather jacket. I love it so much, and am making myself feel better by not shopping for a while and donating any clothes I didn’t wear over the summer. Love that skirt!

  28. you look great molly!!! and it is crazy to me how sizes vary so much – even in the same store! I have pants from old navy that vary by three sizes. that skirt is so cute!

  31. That’s an awesome deal, Molly! I’m going through a “No Buy” right now, as I save up for a purse from Madewell. It’s a toss up between the Kensington Satchel and the Camden Tote. But, lately, I’ve loved wearing classic pieces and neutrals.
